Our Sacraments

At the Church of the Sacred Synthesis, we work with two primary sacraments, Psilomethoxin and 5-MeO, each offering unique and complementary effects on consciousness, emotional well-being, and nervous system regulation.

 

These substances are administered and received strictly within the spiritual framework of our Church. They are not medical treatments, prescriptions, or cures. While grounded in neurochemical science, their use is sacramental, and any exploration with these compounds should be done in consultation with your licensed medical or mental health providers.

Psilomethoxin:
A Bridge Between Worlds

What is Psilomethoxin?

Psilomethoxin is a novel compound formed through a sacramental alchemical process in which 5-MeO is introduced during the cultivation of containing mushrooms. The result is a mushroom that expresses:

  • Active ingredient in mushrooms
  • 5-MeO – a powerful compound found in toads and plants
  • Psilomethoxin – an emergent compound from their synthesis

How it Works in the Brain:

  • Primarily activates the 5-HT2A receptors, associated with perception, emotion, and ego.
  • 5-MeO, present in trace amounts, engages the 5-HT1A receptors, which modulate calm, presence, and introspection.
  • Psilomethoxin is believed to engage both pathways, producing a blend of embodied insight and serenity.

5-MeO:
The Light of Nonduality

What is 5-MeO?

5-MeO is a naturally occurring compound found in the Sonoran Desert Toad (Incilius alvarius) and certain plants. It is also produced endogenously in the human body. Known for its intensity and fast onset, 5-MeO is sometimes called “The God Molecule” for its ability to dissolve ego structures and open consciousness to nondual awareness.

Church Administration Formats:

  • Jaguar Light Wand: a microdose, handheld vapor device for a rapid onset, incrementally increased dosing experience
  • Jaguar Unity Mist: a microdose nasal spray format intended for gentler, elongated experience

Neuroscientific Profile:

  • Primarily activates 5-HT1A receptors, associated with calm, surrender, and ego dissolution
  • Secondary interaction with 5-HT2A receptors, allowing some perceptual shifts
  • Known to disrupt the brain’s Default Mode Network (DMN), which governs self-referencing and mental loops

Reported Effects:

  • A sense of becoming light, energy, or pure awareness
  • Deep nervous system reset
